Generally, all wines have their optimum drinking temperature. To enjoy the different Frontera wines, it is recommended that red wines are consumed at a temperature about 18° C or 64°F, while the temperature of the whites must be lower, between 8° to 10° C (46° – 50° F), depending on the strain.
Therefore, when buying a white wine many people tend to keep it in the refrigerator to drink it as cold as possible. However, this belief is quite wrong, because if the bottle spends many days in the refrigerator the cork tends to harden, making difficult the task of corkage. It is very likely to break the cork by remove it in these conditions, taking the risk of spilling the wine.
To avoid disappointment, it’s best to keep all the bottles together in a wine cellar and the same day that you want to uncork a white wine, put it in a bucket of ice water a couple of hours before opening. If you do not have these tools in hand, you can keep the wine in the refrigerator a few hours earlier.
Once you open the bottle, the ideal is to drink all the wine with a good company, and in that way, avoid having to keep it opened, as it will lose some of its qualities because of the time it was in contact with air.
